No More Phlegminess @ Fort Mason

I woke up today not feeling that phlegmy feeling in my chest. I hope this means my cough is gone. If so, hallelujah! If not, I know it's almost gone so that's exciting too.

I went to the gym again yesterday. Did a modified workout, only 30 minutes of light cardio followed by upper body weight training. I skipped a few exercises (rows and pushups) but again, it felt good to be working out. My legs are still sore from Wednesday but it's a good sore generally.

I'm going on a scenic walk today in SF. The weather here has been ideal the past few days and I think I'm going to get my convertible out for a spin today. Oh, I think I'll give it a wash this morning. It's an older model (1989) BMW 325i, white. I bought it several years ago on a whim and we've been slowly fixing it up. It's so fun in the summer. If I remember I'll post a picture of it later.

Alright, wishing you all good health during the cold season!

Charmed

I gained .4 pounds this week. The good thing is since I went from 183.8 to 184.2 muscletank sees both of those as 184. Thus I still have Lost 50 pounds next to my name. It's psychological but it's nice. Anyway, I think the gain might, just might be related to my three candy bar meltdown earlier this week and the lack of exercise. I'm going to come back next week!

Unfortunately I've been coughing all week. It's irritating as hell. I said I wasn't going to go to the gym until it was gone but I broke down and went. I felt like it was getting to be too long since I'd gone and feared my good habits might go away. I did 10 minutes on the elliptical and 10 minutes on the bike. I went really slow and kept my heart rate under 140 the whole time, actually most of the time it was in the 120's. Then I did most of my lower body weight training work out - squats, lunges, leg presses. I did some crunches and hanging leg raises. My legs are a little sore today. I guess that's what happens when you take a week off. It felt really good to be back in the gym and I'm so looking forward to the day I can do my full work out again.

Here are pics of the Weight Watchers charms. The first is the keychain and the 16 week charm. They give you the keychain when you lose 10% of your body weight. They give you the clapping hands at 16 weeks to show you've made new habits.

Relapse

Man, I got really sick this week. I took Thur and Fri off work. Friday night I was convinced I had the flu. But, maybe not. I woke up feeling a bit better, with no more fever, on Saturday morning. Last time I went to the gym was last Monday. I am shooting to go back on Wednesday but if I still have a productive cough I might hold off. I don't want to force myself back too fast and have a relapse and be sick another week.

I'm already nervous about how hard the gym might be with this time off, but I know I'll be back in full swing within a week or so. I hope others around here aren't sick too, but like they always say, "it's going around".

I'll have to post a pic of my WW 50 pound charm so you can see it.
