Dead Last > Did Not Finish > Did Not Start

I know I've been on the quiet side lately. There's a lot going on over here and the blog has slipped a bit on the priority list. Self care has slipped a bit. I went on an 8 mile run over the weekend, followed that up by a 10 mile hike on Monday. Haven't done squat since then. Working on getting my brain in gear but when life interrupts, sometimes you just need time to re-align. Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say I'm still here.

I didn't get into the first round lottery for the Escape from Alcatraz triathlon. I felt a mixture of disappointment and relief. There will be another round of lottery for all the spots not taken by the folks that got in. Though with the $25 lottery fee, I expect my chances are not that good. I will volunteer again though, that was an amazing experience.

The Nike half-marathon is next weekend. I'm not really ready. I plan to do a long run this weekend but the event itself is going to be a "wing it" sort of situation. And that's ok. I plan to just go, do what I can, enjoy the day for which I paid a hefty sum to participate, get my necklace and consider anything that gets me over the finish line a success. No time goals, no running vs walking expectations, no failure other than not trying. Dead Last > Did Not Finish > Did Not Start

On a lighter note, I'm in the midst of a blog makeover. I'll be sharing a preview on my FB page soon to see what you all think. One thing is assured, it will take some time to get used to. I was shocked by the change but I think on the whole it's going to spiffy things up around here.

And on a fun note, there are some really exciting things happening in relation to my blog. I am sworn to secrecy so I can't give any details but let's just say yours truly is going to be flown somewhere to do something that will lead to lots more people knowing my name! It's both exciting and scary but I'm ready to spread the news of hope and inspiration when it comes to weight loss and maintenance. I'll keep you posted, albeit cryptically, as much as I can.
